This leads to greater harmonisation and more consistent obligations across the European Union.<\/div>\n<div class=\"ewa-rteLine\"><\/div>\n<div class=\"ewa-rteLine\">Adopted in 2025, the PPWR establishes an ambitious framework based on three main priorities:<\/div>\n<div class=\"ewa-rteLine\">\u2192 Reducing the amount of packaging placed on the market<\/div>\n<div class=\"ewa-rteLine\">\u2192 Improving the recyclability of all packaging<\/div>\n<div class=\"ewa-rteLine\">\u2192 Developing reuse and the use of recycled materials<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"ewa-rteLine\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<h2 class=\"s-pb-2 s-pt-4 s-heading-xl s-text-foreground dark:s-text-foreground-night\"><strong class=\"s-font-semibold s-text-foreground dark:s-text-foreground-night\"><strong><strong class=\"font-semibold text-foreground\">What does this mean in practice for industrial packaging?<\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<div class=\"s-whitespace-pre-wrap s-break-words s-font-normal first:s-pt-0 last:s-pb-0 s-py-1 @md:s-py-2 @md:s-leading-7 s-text-base s-leading-7 s-text-foreground dark:s-text-foreground-night\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"whitespace-pre-wrap break-words font-normal first:pt-0 last:pb-0 py-1 @md:pt-2 @md:pb-[10px] @md:leading-relaxed text-base leading-relaxed text-foreground\">\n<div class=\"ewa-rteLine\">\n<div class=\"ewa-rteLine\">\n<div class=\"ewa-rteLine\">The PPWR applies to all packaging placed on the European market, including industrial and transport packaging.<\/div>\n<div class=\"ewa-rteLine\"><\/div>\n<div class=\"ewa-rteLine\">Here are the main points to remember:<\/div>\n<div class=\"ewa-rteLine\"><u class=\"ql-und\">1. Recyclability becomes mandatory<\/u><\/div>\n<div class=\"ewa-rteLine\">By 2030, all packaging will have to be recyclable. This requirement means that packaging must be designed from the outset to facilitate sorting, collection and recycling at the end of its life.<\/div>\n<div class=\"ewa-rteLine\"><u class=\"ql-und ql-dbl\">2. Reuse is encouraged<\/u><\/div>\n<div class=\"ewa-rteLine\">The regulation sets reuse targets for certain categories of packaging. Reusable solutions are clearly favoured over single-use packaging.<\/div>\n<div class=\"ewa-rteLine\"><u class=\"ql-und ql-dbl\">3. Packaging minimisation<\/u><\/div>\n<div class=\"ewa-rteLine\">The PPWR introduces minimisation requirements. Empty space within packaging must not exceed a certain threshold, while weight and volume must be reduced to what is strictly necessary.<\/div>\n<div class=\"ewa-rteLine\"><u class=\"ql-und ql-dbl\">4.
